Nkechi Nwafor-Robinson
EIMS Founder & CEO

Nkechi Nwafor-Robinson is a dynamic powerhouse of a human. A WXN Most Powerful Woman in Canada winner, she has never been one to be limited by functional boundaries or titles. From an early age, Nkechi lived by the conviction that showing up, taking risks, and doing one’s best are the keys to professional and personal success.

There’s a message on her vision board that she holds close to her heart: ‘The best way to become a billionaire is to help a billion people’. “To me that’s the domino effect for creating change in the world.”, she explains.

She strives every day, in every circumstance, experience, text message, phone conversation and interaction to be a lead domino for empowerment. This is very evident in the energy that laces and forms the tapestry of her interactions with others.

On the career front, Nkechi is an award-winning technology executive with over 25 years of experience in the IT industry. She has held progressively senior roles across prominent organizations, including TD Bank Group, IBM, and Rogers Communications. Currently, she serves as Vice President of Technology Operations & Services and Cloud Transformation at Export Development Canada, where she leads digital transformation strategies that align business and technology for future growth. Throughout her career, she has thrived in spaces where women—especially women of color—are underrepresented. Often the only Black person, woman, or Black woman in the room, Nkechi has used that reality as fuel to stand for change, drive impact, and open doors for others. She proudly embraces her Nigerian roots, crediting her parents for instilling a deep cultural pride: “They brought Nigeria here,” she often says with a smile.

A graduate of Concordia University, she holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Applied Mathematics, with a minor in Computer Science. In addition, she completed a Financial Acumen Executive MBA Program at the Rotman School of Management. In recognition of her daily mission to empower and champion others and influence change, she is the recipient of numerous awards, notably, WXN Most Powerful Women in Canada – Top 100. Additionally, for work she has done in her community, she has been awarded Women in Tech Excellence Award by Nigerian IT Professionals in Canada (NIPCA), Community Personality by Network of Nigerians in Canada (NNC), and Power of Inclusion Leadership by Council of Nigerian Professionals (CNP).

An advocate for helping others, she is the founder and CEO of Empowered in My Skin (EIMS) Inc., a grassroots organization that focuses on self-empowerment and helping humans everywhere thrive daily. She is a firm believer that empowered people, empower people, creating a domino effect towards creating sustainable change in this world. She employs this belief so effortlessly that it’s clear her mission to help one billion people think in empowering ways will be achieved.

About EIMS

Empowered in My Skin Inc. is a catalyst for change, transformation, and empowerment. Getting people to think in a way that is empowering is the lead domino that has an impact on the world.

Founded in November 2014, birthed in a time where Nkechi (the Founder) was finally able to express the love she had for the skin she was in. Not wanting to be alone in this glory, she decided to create a platform that she could use to shine light on other amazing humans who have influenced her in a positive way because of their love for the skin they are in.

EIMS began with one community event, she promoted, and 38 women showed up and she never looked back.

EIMS’s main objective is to grow into a brand that is a catalyst for real change, transformation, and empowerment. Getting people to think in a way that is empowering creates a rippling effect that has an impact on the world.

Beyond the empowerment events, Nkechi is now building EIMS Inc., as a Personal Leadership Development company. Personal Leadership and Inclusion & Diversity are areas of focus for her. She is marrying this love and creating a personal leadership development formula for humans everywhere that when plugged into will build the type of character that can withstand any life shifts and still operate from a place of clarity.

"To help one billion people think in a way that is empowering."
